Abstract

ABSTRACT
Concrete is a composite material obtained from a process of mixing portland cement, fine
aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water that hardens over time into the development of solid
objects. In the last decade the idea emerged that one of them is the addition of fly ash,
concrete additives as fly ash can improve the quality of concrete assessed in terms of
strength, resistance to water, resistance to sulfate and ease of workmanship concrete (Sofwan
Hadi, 2000), the use of fly ash also can reduce the use of cement, making the concrete more
economical and also as a form of utilization of waste that will help protect the environment.
In this study will be discussed on the influence of water cement variation factor with the
addition of 20% fly ash, using a mixture of concrete 1pc: 2ps: 3 kr, variety of water cement
factor used is 0.45: 0.50: 0.55 and 0, 60. From the analysis and discussion, it can be
concluded as follows: with the value added of Water Cement Factor (FAS) will decrease the
compressive strength of concrete, will raise the slump value and the optimum value on the
variation Cement Water Factor (FAS) FAS occurs at a value of 0.45.
